This is my first post! I wanted to create a little space on this website to write about the things I make with my hands. I grew up in the blogging era, and I miss it. Things felt simpler back then.
I'm not sure if anyone will read this, but that's okay. I'm quite a recluse, so I like expressing myself through channels like this. I wanted my website to feel a little more personal than just selling. (I can be bad at selling?)
My latest creations
Quite honestly, I wasn’t in the mood to make anything after I fractured my ankle. But things got better as I recovered, and I made some new designs! That’s how 14 days of jewellery was born.
I didn't actually make 1 piece every day. I simply shared a piece each day for 14 days. Some days I made 1, other days I made 4. It really depends on how I feel that day and my energy capacity. I've never wanted to force myself to create on bad days. I don’t want to spread the bad juju to my jewellery, and then to the receiver of my products. 😆 Trust that every piece is made with my heart on lovelier days!
My brand, Keeping You, feels very personal to me. (Make) Keeping You is not a brand with constant launches or aggressive selling. It’s a space for things I make when feeling inspired. It’s an outlet for me to express myself through the things I make.
Do you like my new website? Because I do!
I know website design is a subjective, personal taste thing. But it really reflects what I wanted for the brand. I customised the entire website to be exactly how I wanted it. I didn’t want to make my website too complex. I tried to keep everything simple and easy to navigate because user experience matters a lot to me. If you experience any friction on my site, please do let me know so I can improve! I also wanted to thank my partner for helping with the website backend integrations.
I have added an ambient audio (bottom left of the website). It’s muted by default, just in case you’re in public, or do not want the sound to play.
I miss those days when BGM on websites was a thing! More than a decade ago, my blog played “Let it rock”, and I'd end up staying on my own blog just to listen to it. Hahaha. Idk if it’s hard to imagine my brand being all floral and lace, and yet I listen to rap rock song 😂
I even used to visit a friend's blog just to listen “21 Guns” by Green Day. (Shoutout to QR, if you're somehow reading this lol)
Ok, I guess that’s the end of my first post. See you in the next one?
